Safety Center
Emergency? OpenDating is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services if someone is in immediate danger.
Before meeting
- Keep early conversations in the app.
- Never send money, gift cards, passwords, or financial credentials.
- Watch for pressure to move quickly, secrecy, inconsistent stories, and investment or emergency requests.
- Use the in-app block and report controls when something feels wrong.
Meeting in person
- Choose a public place and control your transportation.
- Tell a trusted person where you are going and when you expect to return.
- Protect your home and workplace address until trust is established.
- Leave whenever you feel uncomfortable; you do not owe anyone an explanation.
Privacy limits
Messages are end-to-end encrypted, but recipients can copy, photograph, or share what they receive. OpenDating cannot prevent screenshots.
Reporting
Reports should include only the evidence you choose to disclose. The public beta will not open until staffed escalation and appeal processes meet the release gates.
